Sam's 67 1500 pt.11 - Wings fitted

Time to fit the Day Mouldings wings we mentioned earlier. Painted by Lee at Manflowers Restorations they are all ready to go.
The mounting holes all lined up apart from one, but that's probably my welding of the mounting nut being wrong rather a problem with the wings. The rubber piping was cut an installed and they were on in a couple of hours...what a difference they make. It looks like a car now!

Sam's 67 1500 pt.10 - Some shiney bits!

Only a few smaller bits added here. MCJ supplied the knobs and excellent grab handle, the fit of the handle is perfect! The other notable piece is the Mamba Gear Shifter from Vintage Speed. Another simple bolt in part an a thing of absolute beauty!

Sam's 67 1500 pt.9 - Glass and Interior

The glass can go back in now the roof lining is in. We needed a new screen because the original toughened one shattered when we took it out. A new laminated one was installed by our friendly windscreen man and he put all the other bits in while he was here. Bonus!
We did the door builds, new winder mechanisms seals and door cards. The black door kit was a bundle offer from Machine 7, 4 cards, sun visers and handbrake boot plus all the fittings and made the job a doddle.
Black carpet set supplied by Harrisons was another straight forward job, making the interior even darker!
Finally the back seat was installed having been recovered in vinyl to to mach the back of the 911 seats and stitched to match, too. Refit the front seats and its taken a big leap forward!

Sam's 67 1500 pt.8 - Engine and trim

The engine is the one it had when I had the car. The bottom end was rebuilt about 12 years ago...how time flies! It is 1641cc stock crank and cam, with dual 40 Dellorto's and a Vintage Speed Exhaust(another excellent piece of kit). The engine went in in no time but the carbs were a mission!
That only left us time to do the interior trim this afternoon. We have fully felted where the original roof lining went and the centre roof was made in three sections, felt covered and slipped over the steel edge.
Its SO BLACK....the picture can hardly be seen!

Sam's 67 1500 pt.7 - Gauges finished

Sorted out the mounting screws and added an original piece of dash trim to finish the Gauge install. Smart!

Sam's 67 1500 pt.6 - Wings and things

We have a full set of Day Mouldings wings to go on. Kindly painted by Lee at Manflowers. We'll fit them later so we have more room in the garage! More wiring routed which can be seen hanging out each end and while its outside a few shots showing the Wishbone Front and Uniball/Coilover Rear setup...and the sexy wheels,too!

Sam's 67 1500 pt.5 - Gauges

First job was to run the new wiring loom through from front to back. Its laid out in general position and will be tidied up as we add parts back on.
We have a pair of excellent Dakota Digital Gauges to give the dash a bit of a lift. Brace yourselves originality fans!
We have had a laser cut dash insert cut which we are trial fitting here. It will be held on with some nice dome nuts and use stock dash trim to integrate it into the original dash.
